The Business Environmental Program provides free and confidential environmental management assistance to business and government operations in Nevada. The Program specializes in cost effective strategies to reduce hazardous materials and waste generation, conserve water and energy, minimize air emissions, and maintain compliance with environmental requirements. The program provides training, on-site consultation, assistance over the phone and through its website and publications.
BIENNIAL HAZARDOUS WASTE REPORT

NEW Effective October 26, 2011, the Nevada Legislative Commission issued final approval of Petition R030-11. Approval of this regulation makes the State requirement for biennial hazardous waste reporting consistent with Federal regulations. Therefore, Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators and Small Quantity Generators are no longer required to submit a biennial hazardous waste report.
NEW ONLY businesses that generated, treated, stored or disposed hazardous waste, at or above threshold quantities (i.e., Large Quantity Generators and Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities), during 2011, are required to complete and submit a Biennial Hazardous Waste Report.
The Hazardous Waste Biennial Generator Report must be submitted, on-line, to the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection by March 1, 2012. The report details the type and amount of hazardous waste that was generated onsite, shipped off-site and/or received from off-site during the reporting year.
