Pollution Prevention

What is P2?

Do you want to save money? Do you want to increase efficiency? Do you want a more productive work environment? Do you want to reduce waste?

Whether you call it “smart business”, “efficient business” or, just plain old “using your head”, many folks don’t realize that there are countless opportunities to improve the operations within their businesses. We like to refer to these practices as pollution prevention or P2.

“Pollution prevention (P2) is the reduction or elimination of wastes and pollutants at their sources.” For all the pollution that is avoided in the first place, there is that much less pollution to manage, treat, dispose of, or clean up.
POLLUTION = WASTE = INEFFICIENCY = COST = LOST REVENUE

The Business Environmental Program is dedicated to assisting all business to explore pollution prevention opportunities for their operations.

What can we do for you?

Conduct an on-site visit to assess opportunities

Pollution prevention consists of any activity or strategy that eliminates or reduces the use of toxic substances, conserves water or energy, and eliminates (or reduces) the generation of nonproductive output, hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater, or other pollutants.
