{"id":4748,"date":"2012-02-15T17:48:20","date_gmt":"2012-02-16T00:48:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unrbep.org\/?p=4748"},"modified":"2012-02-15T17:48:20","modified_gmt":"2012-02-16T00:48:20","slug":"epa-releases-permit-writers-manual-for-cafos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unrbep.org\/dealerportal\/epa-releases-permit-writers-manual-for-cafos\/","title":{"rendered":"EPA Releases Permit Writer&#8217;s Manual for CAFOs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EPA is releasing a <a href=\"http:\/\/cfpub.epa.gov\/npdes\/afo\/cafofinalrule.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">technical manual for concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs)<\/a> to provide states, producers, and the general public (1) general information on Clean Water Act and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program requirements for CAFOs, (2) information to explain CAFO permitting requirements under the Clean Water Act, and (3) technical information to help states and producers understand options for nutrient management planning.<\/p>\n<p>It is EPA&#8217;s intent that this is a living document that will be updated periodically to incorporate new and emerging approaches to CAFO management, including those focused on manure reuse and recycling and use for energy generation.\u00a0 Interested parties are encouraged to bring to EPA&#8217;s attention questions and suggestions concerning the content of this manual at any time.
