Safer Choice

Proposed Updates Webinar On December 19, 2023 from 2-3p.m. ET, the EPA will hold a webinar to provide information on the proposed updates to the Safer Choice Standard, which identifies the requirements that products and their ingredients must meet to earn EPA’s Safer Choice label or Design for the Environment (DfE) logo.  Register here for the webinar, and submit any comments about the proposed updates to docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2023-0520 on regulations.gov by January 16, 2024.

EPA Proposes Trichloroethylene (TCE) Ban

Comments due by December 15th In October 2023, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed to ban the manufacture (including import), processing, and distribution in commerce of TCE for all uses. NNPH to host public workshops regarding fees 

Northern Nevada Public Health (formerly Washoe County Health District) is proposing revisions to Environmental Health Services and Air Quality Management fees, due to higher costs from inflation. Members of the public are encouraged to weigh in on these proposed changes. Feedback collected at these workshops will be used to develop recommendations for the District Board of Health, which governs Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH).
