The US EPA has announced three new funding opportunities to improve recycling infrastructure and consumer education and outreach on wasted food prevention and composting: Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling (SWIFR) Grants for Tribes and Intertribal Consortia and for Communities, and Recycling Education and Outreach (REO) Grants for coalitions. US EPA Amends Two Air Toxics Standards to Remove Affirmative Defense Provisions

On October 16, 2024, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued final amendments to two air toxics regulations, the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Oil and Natural Gas Production and the NESHAP for Natural Gas Transmission and Storage. These rules aim to control hazardous air pollutants, which can cause cancer and other serious health problems.

The US EPA is hosting a series of four meetings on mid-format battery recycling and collection from September through November, 11AM to 1PM PST. Mid-format batteries are rechargeable batteries between 11 and 25 pounds and 300 to 2,000 watt-hour ratings.
